Where Do We Go From Here?

In the summer of 2011, I began a new series of drawings around money and war. In them, I began to compare the much talked about national debt of 14.4 trillion dollars to my own personal debt of 40,000 dollars. I also began to investigate how the national debt has accumulated as a result of the wars being fought on multiple fronts as well as the United States’ history of war and foreign relationships.

The conversation questions not only the relationship of war to money but also my own personal relationship to money, debt, and the many emotional facets enclosed within those relationships. I am taking a deep look at how money and class have informed decisions throughout my life and the impact of those decisions on others around me.
