100 Cops: To Serve and Protect
Starting with an assignment to make 100 drawings, I chose a toy cop car. The drawings shifted and chaos emerged, text sprinkled onto the pages, and radical cheers were swimming in my head. C-O-P-S with the badge on their chest / the want to o-ppress-ess-ess-ess / the people with less-ess-ess-ess... I then crafted it into an entire installation that spoke to the experience of cop-watch and questions who the police are really there to protect and to serve.
